“By faith Noah, when we was warned about the things NO ONE COULD FORSEE, respected God and built an ark…” Hebrews 11: 7a
Can we talk about minute about the future?
Are you able to visualize it?
Do you know what will come?
I used to think the answer was no. I believe now the answer is yes.
Now, don’t close your computer. Hear me out.
When I say that I believe we can see the future, I don’t mean all the details. I am not sure about where I will be living or what car I will be driving 20 years from now. I don’t even know if I’ll be on this earth any more.
But, I can say with certainty a few things about the future. I know that I will maintain a healthy weight. I know that I will be blessed beyond measure. I know I will be helping women live more abundant lives. I know that I will be loving my husband, kids and the rest of my family. And what I am most sure of, I will have a home in heaven.
How do I know all of these things about my future? Because, these all come down to a CHOICE I get to make. I get to choose how I eat and take care of my body. I get to choose to see the blessings in everyday life. I get to choose to help women. I get to choose to love no matter how anyone loves me back. I get to choose to believe in Jesus, my savior.
I get it. Sometimes these don’t feel like choices, BUT THEY ARE. The sooner you realize this, the sooner you will be able to reign in the power of free will that God gave you.
I believe that power comes from the Spirit. The Holy Spirit filling you up and showing you an abundant mindset about life.
What am I getting at? How you think about your future is IMPORTANT.
Do you love you future? Or are you longing for better?
“If their hearts had been in the country they left, they could have found an opportunity to go back. Instead, they were longing for a better country – I mean heaven. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, because he as prepared a city for them.” Hebrews 11: 15-16
If you're longing for better, then you need stop finding the opportunity to go back to the life you currently live. You have to start making the choice to believe that God wants you to live abundantly and that is available to you AT ANY TIME.
See, Noah could not foresee the great flood but he had faith. He had faith that God had a plan. So, he didn’t keep living the way he always had, doing the job he had always been doing. No. He went to work and built an ark. He didn’t look for the opportunities to quit and go back to life the way it was. He lived in his future.
You may not be able to foresee the future, but you can make some choice in the present to change the results you will live in the future.
I recommend you take some time and really think about that future you. What will she do? Who will she be? How will she think and feel? Start living her, believing you are her and having faith God is giving you that life.
Pretty soon, you’ll look around and realize you are her.
And that’s a pretty amazing feeling.
